Hetalia: Hair curls

Nothing like having a mirror
and cell at the ready when your
hair decides in between college
classes is the perfect time to
defy reasonable hair codes
and gravitational laws.
Perhaps it started after I switched shampoo and conditioner combinations or perhaps it was after I started cosplaying. We may never know. What we do know is that my hair has taken up the tendency to defy gravity in the most interesting ways.
Unfortunately most all of the cameras I own have disappeared in the move, so I can't offer many pictures of the gravity defying acts in the act, however I can offer anime visual representations of the curls of which I shall speak. I'm sure having looked over the previous posts and then picking up on the key word(s) gravity defying curls, you have some idea of what I am about to launch into.

Yes.

Hetalia Curls!
The Erogenous areas of our beloved countries. While mine aren't in the least bit erogenous, admittedly I will probably react in some way if you yank on them, responding with some form of negativity such as yelling and violence. So be warned.

Where was I?
Right! Gravity defying Hetalia hair!
When the idea of writing this post first popped into my head 3 months ago, to me the curls were still new. Neat, and sparse enough to elicit excitement whenever they greeted me in the morning. Now however, they are regular enough that they are met with a smile and uplift of mood, but hardly the spark of excitement as before. it's almost everyday now. "What country will I be next?" I will wonder.
You might think, "No big deal." Italy curls are pretty easy to achieve after all. It's just a simple everyday curl, whether under or over. Same pretty much goes for Greece and Grandpa Rome.

Now that I had bangs, occasionally I would even get America's Nantucket.

But what's truly exciting though is when my hair conforms to curls that are actually really hard to form, and should be impossible to achieve naturally. Take Canada's for instance! That curl is so unlikely, most fan-artists have taken to playing ti down to make it more realistic.
<<<<------------
Nope here we are talking about the full large Loop-de-loop! It's possible peeps! I've woken up with it!
Yeah! I went there! Dudes, I was so syched I had to show everyone. Most people didn't get the significance of having Canada's curl, as most didn't know Hetalia and only saw hair that needed to be brushed. Well I wasn't having any of that. I fangirl spazzed my way through that day. Sure I combed down the rest of it but I got2b glued that curl the heck into place.

I was Canada for the day!

Another unlikely curl is Taiwan's. This girl's curl is ridiculously hard to achieve even with product. You've got to bend it, spray it, Bend it, spray it, bend it, spray it, then curl it! Goodness knows I attempted it enough while cosplaying as her to know how ridiculous it is! And even after I got it right, the heat from the day straightened it right out.
So it's impossible.
Of course it's impossible! Have you Freaking looked at it?!
...
So naturally I wake up one morning with one.
No joke. Kinks, curls, the whole shabang! I don't know if it's that my hair is working to hard, or Tinker bell is having a sparkle party while I sleep... But what shouldn't be possible, repeatedly is so.

*Sigh*. While I can show my brother and he gets it, and I can text my friends my excitement, and they kinda get it, the majority of people I see when my hair gets really fantastalia, have no idea. Oh the sadness weeps my heart.
Well. In any case, I figured I would share.

Lol you guys have no idea the amount of nsfw images I had to filter through to find the images for this particular post. or then again, maybe you would.

                                                                 Peace out!

The Art of Constant Cosplay

Recently I have been trying to think of other coincidences or neat anime blips that I could share here, but of course, whenever you try to think of something like that, it evades the heck out of you. Well I got one for you: Impromptu random cosplay!
There I was reading fan-fiction while painting my toenails (ever since I took off the Soul Eater Medusa design, they have seemed a little bare) when I remembered that the jello I had stuck in the fridge hours before should be done. So with one foot not yet dry, I take off on a journey to the kitchen. with one foot still wet it's not like I can just walk in there; oh no, that would be too simple! So, tucking one behind the other knee, I go jumping along. After running into the second wall I realized that I looked silly. While I could just walk normally, I have gotten into the habit of being lazy and just justifying whatever random crap I come up with. So suddenly my journey to get jello turned into cosplay. I was no longer just a college student fearlessly fighting jello starvation!

No! Now I was a lamp post!

I know what you are maybe thinking. A lamp post?
Yes, random person, a lamp post. Instantly I felt more sure of myself; more confident in what I was doing; sure that I could take the world! Okay so maybe not that much enthusiasm. But I most certainly did start hopping with more spirited vigor.

Returning to my seat with plate of jello in hand it occurred to me that this wasn't the first time this week random cosplay has taken front seat  in my actions.
In the lively downtown of our dear college town, in the midst of clubbing, drinking and the college patying, lies is a certain shop. out of the way from the typical hustle and bustle of the late Friday night, smoke curls into the rafters, mingling and shaping the darkness surrounding the man behind the counter. The man waits. waits for your order. He will not sell you food, nor a drink. but a bottle of smoke. For this place is a Hookah Lounge!
That's right! flavored smoke for sale!
Now I am actually against smoking.... and drinking... and drugs... dude, I don't even take Advil or Tylenol. Not for other people, just for  myself.
Anyway, here I found myself in this  hookah lounge quite out of place. and feeling rather uncomfortable and out of place as my friends took turns blowing out the flavored smoke in puffs, bubbles, and streams. After a while I realized that this was actually an experience that not only amused me, but had me terribly curious.  so finally I was all like, "Give me that thing!" so with the tube in hand I leaned back in the couch. No longer sitting stiffly, I crossed my legs and lounged back. I pulled the sweet smoke into my mouth, the airy fumes coiling around my tongue and cheeks. with a slow exhale I let the smoke escape. The trail of smoke curled in on itself in a spiral before wafting up to the ceiling...
I hope you follow where this is going.
Okay, so it didn't actually form into a spiral... but it sure did in my head! I was also continuously disappointed when no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the smoke to take on the shape of a ship. And gosh darn I tried! I did however manage the dragon effect; by getting the smoke to split going out and up on either side of my mouth. Really fun and neat... Although, once they turned off the good cultural music and switched to deafening club music with strobe lights, the experience grew old fast.

Speaking of ships, I'm looking into new Hetalia ones that I had never considered before. I have no idea what I think of them so far... But  maybe I'll post something about them later.

Hetalia: Italy Afterthought

Since I just wrote the previous blog post yesterday, the topic was still on my  mind. So as I was sitting in the car with my friend driving to the mall, I began to wonder why it was that her relationship with her previous boyfriend ended. If they were so like the hetalia pairing we all love, then why on earth didn't it work out? She's Italy, and he is Germany. Gerita right?!
Then I realized: she began to wizen up to the world. My humor was pretty dark back then and hers followed suit. So imagine this with me: Italy's humor starts to get dark. Now what have you?

That's right. 2p. She began to turn into 2p Italy.

Now just how well do you think 2p Italy and 1p Germany would get along?... Where 1p Italy is innocent and sweet, 2p is on to the cruelties of the world and has a rather cynical approach to how to deal with it. Of course that doesn't stop 2p from having fun, oh no.

The problem now was that Germany really didn't approve of  her new interests. He didn't get her sense of humor and actually openly disproved of the way she viewed the world now. He never seemed to get that she wasn't 1p anymore...
At odds, it's no wonder their relationship didn't last.
Lol, sudden thought: Spain was a pirate so it totally makes sense that their relationship works. He's seen  enough of the world that he knows it isn't a good place, and still he makes the most of it. And maybe that's what drew them together.

I can't help but wonder though, wouldn't she be happier with a 2p Germany? There has to be one out there.

But who knows. Spain is kind. So maybe it is better.
Won't keep me from internally shipping my ships though :p

Hetalia: Life on a ship.

So, people are always mistaking my friend and me for sisters, sometimes even twins, so I've kinda started to think that way when it comes to cosplay too. Years ago when we were just getting into cosplay, we thought it would be really neat to do Hetalia. My friend would make a pretty cute Italy (goodness knows she was bubbly enough), and her boyfriend practically WAS Germany!
We ended up going with a Fruits Basket cosplay instead though.

But it got me thinking. Recently She has been pretty emotional and sometimes breaks and cries kinda like Italy does, which reminded me of that cosplay idea. Wait... wouldn't that make me Romano then?
I glanced in the mirror and realized that in the way I had cut my hair, I could pull of NyoRomano really easily.  Well that would work out pretty well then, and her boyfriend can cosplay as Germany and everything will just turn out gre-...but her boyfriend is Spain...

There's really no other way you can get around it... He speaks Spanish, he has Spain's hair, he plays the guitar, he's bubbly and really stupidly happy most of the time...
So... Italy is dating Spain? That completely goes against my ships though! I admit that I sometimes have a difficult time differentiating between anime canon/fanon and my actual life. Sometimes a little anime surge is enough to make me forget I am not part of a ship and that I shouldn't make my decisions based on a fictional relationship and canon...
So looking here and thinking of the natural spamano that should be happening is weird enough, with the following thought, well since Italy and Spain are already dating in my reality, it wouldn't be too weird if all three of them were together...
You might think the weirdness stops there... but you'd be wrong.
It get's even more peculiar when you take into account the fact that all three of us had dated. No joke! For at least 5 months, all three of us were in a dating relationship with each other.

The more I think on it actually, the more I realize that the situation in the picture to the right ---> is exactly the relationship we were in. And I don't realize it till 3ish months later. what a coincidence, eh?

Just to throw another interesting curve-ball into the picture before I wrap up: While searching for pictures of Spain, I found this picture below.
Would you believe me if I told you that I sometimes accompany him on violin when he is performing on guitar?
